I am just not in the mood for the fast paced hustle bustle this holiday season. I will be getting my joy from the quiet moments I create with myself, my family and my friends. Low key is my mantra. A vase of branches snipped from Christmas tree branches will be beautiful and smell terrific in my home. A collection of great smelling candles will be lit often. My clear vases, jars and bottles with snowflake LED battery operated lights inside, will bring in a winter wonderland feeling into my space. Magnolia leaves picked from my neighbors tree and pinecones from my backyard will lay upon my cedar garlands.
I am planning on making coffee dates with my friends and afternoon movie dates with my sweetie. Just for fun, I am thinking about inviting some friends over for grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade soup from the crockpot.
For me this year, it’s all about the relationships. I want to sit and catch up with my friends and family. I also want to spend some high quality time with myself. Maybe I will read a fun book with a cup of coffee and a grilled cheese sandwich.
