misccameron 036Now, that is what I call a relaxing  field of Lavender  in Sequim, Washington!  We know the scent of lavender is calming and can even help you sleep. But, did you know that lavender is known to to help with digestion?  People in France are known to add lavender to desserts, baked goods and even ice cream.   Lavender also has a reputation for aiding in the digestive system. The flowers have a woodsy flavor and help people become less gassy and bloated.  Lavender also has a reputation for calming cramps and soothing stomach inflammation.   You can find fresh or dried organic culinary lavender in your neighborhood health food stores.  Add to breads, muffins or cookies before baking.  You can also sip on some lavender tea.  Steep 1 tsp lavender in 2/3 cup hot water for 10 minutes.  Then sit down, grab a good book, put your feet up and slowly sip your tea while you breath in the wonderful scent of lavender.
