Love, Friendship and Homemade Pie

This year I had an after Thanksgiving feast at my house with three new women friends.   What this means is after we cooked, cleaned and ate with our families we gathered at my house for a relaxing potluck feast two days later.  Everyone agreed to bring something they enjoyed cooking.  Senora Farr, TheRenaissanceKitchen.com, made homemade rolls, mashed potatoes and special yams, Diane made her famous broccoli bake, Leslie F. made a wonderful green salad with toasted pecans, feta and fresh pears and I cooked a 24 pound turkey and decided to make a apple/pear pie.  Yes, you read correctly a Twenty-Four pound turkey for four women.

I gathered these women to my table because of their loving approach to life.  I decided to bake a pie to show my appreciation of their loving spirits.  Baking a pie is out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to show them love so I gave it a try.  I must say not only did my pie look good, it tasted wonderful.  Everything we ate that night was made with a loving heart therefore all the food tasted marvelous.

After dinner and dessert we moved into the living-room and spent time getting better acquainted.  The goal was to love, laugh, relax, and experience some true joy.
