Find Time To Do Fun Things

People are busy these days and seem more stressed than ever.  Many of my clients are concerned about having no quality time with their partners, children, family member or with themselves.  They report being sleep deprived, tired all the time and having no time to clean house or do laundry.  When I ask what they do for fun they say, “What’s fun?”  This not good!

Everyone needs to have some fun every day.  It is important to figure out what is fun for you.  Maybe you enjoy reading, walking, hiking, cleaning, organizing, writing, planting, weeding, coffee breaks,  visiting, playing cards, game night, cooking, movies, or  arts and crafts.  Add having fun to your must do list.

If you can not remember what you like to do for fun, think back to when you were a child.  Think about what your ten year old self enjoyed doing and start there.  Sometimes we get in our own way.  We think fun has to be something grandiose.  I promise you it does not.  Fun, is anything that brings enjoyment into your life.  Sometimes, I call my friends on specific days and times for a “coffee break.”  We visit and catch up and it’s fun.  Once you get in the groove of having fun, you will start craving more fun in your life.   It will become easier to schedule fun times with family, friends and for yourself.
