When the waiter brought the chicken sandwich he immediately insisted the waiter had erred. Many waiters would have picked up the order slip to prove the customer had made a mistake. Instead the waiter apologized and took the sandwich back to the kitchen and returned with a chicken salad sandwich.
As the man was finishing up his lunch, he looked down at his order slip and noticed the mistake had been his. As he went to the register to pay, he apologized to the waiter and offered to pay for both sandwiches. The waiter said, “That is not necessary. It makes my day that you have forgiven me for being right.”
