Don’t look at me. Shhhh I am not saying anything. Talking leads to people seeing and hearing me. The chances of me being hurt, disappointed, or judged are far too great. It’s what always happens when I let people in. It’s safer for me to stifle and ignore my voice rather than say anything that can be used against me.
When I get involved with people there are always negative consequences; therefore, I taught myself to merely exist. I camouflage myself so no one can see me, hear me, or hurt me. I’m invisible, even to myself.
However, there is nothing good about living a camouflaged life. It makes the world small, trust towards others nonexistent, and you will live life from the sidelines.
We were meant to have full lives and not merely exist in a camouflaged state. Challenge yourself to make life a journey of experiences and good relationships. Find your voice and learn how to use it. Be remembered in a way that impacts those around you in a positive manner, and never again live your life on the sidelines in a camouflaged state.
